Types of
Therapeutic Massage
Visceral Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation is a gentle hands-on therapy that works
through the body’s visceral system (the stomach, intestines,
liver and other internal organs) to locate and alleviate abnormal
points of tension and stress throughout the body.
Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder)
Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder) offers the lightest touch
of all types of massage. However, it has powerful results. This massage
is usually reserved for those clients who cannot handle too much
pressure.
Hot Stone Massage
Stone
Massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of
varying sizes to key points on the body. The direct heat relaxes
muscles, allowing us to obtain deeper access to the muscles while still
creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The stone are also used to
massage muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage
Integrated deep tissue massage has proven effectiveness in resolving chronic musculo-skeletal and structural imbalances within a clinical setting.
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles.
Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.
